Stocktale is run by Sagar U.S., Bengaluru — eighteen years in the securities market as a researcher, author, trader and speaker, with sessions delivered at 60+ educational institutions, and past empanelment as a Resource Person with BSE and with CDSL. He no longer holds either empanelment.
Past empanelment as a BSE or CDSL Resource Person was a training credential. It is not a SEBI registration and confers no authority to advise on securities.
SEBI's Investment Adviser and Research Analyst registrations govern those who give advice on securities. Stocktale gives none. Our purpose is the opposite: a reader who can read the market for himself and never needs to be told what to buy.

Indices. Commentary on broad-based indices uses current data. Index commentary falls within the exclusions to the definition of “research report” under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014, which exclude comments on general trends in the securities market, discussions on broad-based indices, commentaries on economic, political or market conditions, and technical analysis relating to demand and supply in a sector or the index.
Individual securities. Stocktale does not publish data on individual securities in any form.
Educational sessions. Where market price data is used in teaching material, college workshops, recorded lessons or screen-shared content, that data carries a minimum 30-day lag, in line with the SEBI framework effective 1 July 2026. No live or recent price data is used in any educational session.
Paid content. Paid material never goes beyond the same content lines as the free material. Nothing sharper sits behind the paywall.
Personal trading. The operator's private trading is a separate stream that never enters any Stocktale page, session, message or publication.
Stocktale holds no referral, affiliate, commission, marketing or data-sharing arrangement with any stockbroker, exchange, depository, mutual fund, portfolio manager or other SEBI-regulated intermediary. No broker links. No affiliate codes. No lead-sharing. No revenue from any intermediary.
Stocktale earns from readers directly, and from educational sessions. Nothing else.
There is no advertising on this platform. No third party pays to appear here or to influence what is published.
A wrong figure is corrected on the page and the correction stated openly. Any content found to cross into advice or a performance claim is withdrawn the same day, and the rule that failed is written down permanently. No silent edits.
