Entries you write in your diary are personal content and are treated differently from everything else here. They are stored only so that you can read them back. They are not published, not shown to other readers, not used in our own writing or teaching, and not shared with anyone. You can export the whole diary or delete any part of it at any time from your diary page.
Being straight about the limit of that promise: entries live in our database, so they are technically visible to us and to our hosting provider in the same way any stored data is. What we commit to is that we do not read them, and we have built no screen that displays them to us.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.
We retain your account data for as long as the account is open, plus a reasonable period after for legal/accounting purposes. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text). Our site enforces HTTPS, session security, and login rate-limiting to protect your account from unauthorized access.
