Stocktale (operated by Sagar U.S., Bengaluru) respects your privacy. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, how it's used, and your rights over it — in plain language, aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. What we collect

2. WhatsApp communication

By registering, you explicitly agree to receive messages from Stocktale on the mobile number you provide — via WhatsApp, SMS, or calls. This is how daily editions, login details, and account updates are delivered. You can ask to stop this at any time by messaging Sagar directly on WhatsApp.

3. How we use your data

To create and manage your account and membership.
To deliver Gyana, and (for paid members) Arthashastra, Ranbhoomi and Patha-Shala content.
To verify Student-plan eligibility via workshop attendance or referral.
To track referral rewards, if you're part of the referral program.
To secure your account (login attempt monitoring, session management).
To personally respond to your questions (Ask Sagar, member Q&A).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Third parties we use

Razorpay — processes all payments. Your payment details go directly to Razorpay under their own security standards; Stocktale never stores card/UPI numbers.
Hostinger — our web hosting and database provider.
WhatsApp/Meta — used for message delivery when you message Sagar or receive editions via WhatsApp.

5. How long we keep your data

We retain your account data for as long as your membership is active, plus a reasonable period after for legal/accounting purposes. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text). Our site enforces HTTPS, session security, and login rate-limiting to protect your account from unauthorized access.

7. Your rights

Access — ask what data we hold about you.
Correction — update your name/email anytime from your Account page.
Deletion — request your account and data be deleted.
Withdraw consent — opt out of WhatsApp communication at any time.

8. Children's privacy

Stocktale is intended for users 18 years and older, consistent with our checkout acknowledgements. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Stocktale after changes means you accept the updated policy.
